For this assignment, I was tasked with creating a bottle and label design for Dr.Pepper. In researching the brand, one of the most interesting things that I began to learn about was the company’s long history. Dr.Pepper was created by pharmacist Charles Alderton in 1885. It was originally marketed as a medicine of sorts. To honor this history, my label and bottle design are both centered around the idea of medicine/pharmaceuticals. The bottle shape/tint of the drink in the bottle are both reminiscent of medicine bottles of the time. My label was also designed with this in mind, keeping the design very simple, riding the line between minimal design and medical label design.
